Hanoi Bride is a very special, two-part K-Drama, filmed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war. It tells the story of Eun Woo (Lee Dong Wook), a Korean doctor who meets and falls in love with Tib, a half-Korean, half-Vietnamese woman (played by Kim Ok Bin) whilst in Vietnam. However, Tib's sister is opposed to the match, as she was hurt by a Korean man in the past, and so persuades her Tib to break off the relationship.
Eun Woo returns to Korea broken hearted, only for his older brother Sok Woo (Lee Won Jong) to head off to Vietnam in search of a bride himself. But when he returns with a young woman on his arm, Eun Woo is horrified to discover that it is Tib!
U can tell how sad and painful the series is by reading on its synopsis...
I've been wanting to watch this drama eversince i finished the My Girl series, but due to my busy life and to the fact that i dont want to get a hurting feeling...i didnt watch it muna pero Last night, i finally had the courage and time to watch this korean drama... ive had interest in this drama in the 1st place becaus Lee Dong-Wook is the lead actor. hehehe im still not over him since My Girl days..
In watching the movie, you'll notice the fast phasing of the story.. its for the fact that it's only meant for two episodes.. everything happeened fast. But still the actors managed to bring out some emotions...
I prejudged this movie before i had a chance to watch it, i thought that Eun-woo's brother is really gonna marry Thi Vu.. and Eun-woo's brother is a very bad bad guy(judging from his looks, he's the big-fat guy), but i was wrong, Eun-woo's brother is very verysweet and he's such a gentleman.. the only reason his brother went to vietnam is to find a bride. He was forced to do so because his mother is pressuring him to get a wife so that she can finally have a daughter-in-law.. Pero in Destiny's twist, Eun-woo's brother gotten hooked-up with Thi Vu...
The story was really sad and really painful especially when Eun-woo knew the truth on what happened to Thi Vu when he left her in Vietnam(super skit tlga ang part na toh!)Eun-woo was told by his brother that Thi Vu suffered alot when he left her, she was surrounded wwith rumors that her korean lover left her when she got pregnant, and she had an abortion and all.. all her friends left her. it was as if her world crashed when Eun-woo left her.imagine all the shame that those rumors can give you!ur dignity is at stake!....it was so sad that i could almost cry pero i didnt cry.. coz i was eating lotsa chocolates and drinking softdrink(coke) , and belgian bites.. how can i even cry if i have all those Anti-depressant things in me.. ahahaha u should watch it too.. especially when you are a fan of Lee Dong-Wook..
