can't believe it that it's already been more than a year since we transferred here to Cebu City. Im still not familiar with the places here. the places i know are the office, SM, Ayala, the air port, the girls house, the boys hauz.. waaaaa what a waste of time! i wana explore Cebu more but i just dont know how. i have nobody to show me around. it sucks! nyways, i would like to recall on what we[lerry, hunny bunny, ghetz, kuja] did here or what were the ugly experiences we went through here in Cebu..
First off, when we first arrived here our gigantic luggages barely fitted in the van but luckily everything did fit in. at the airport, there was one man who helped us put all the luggages in the van but we thought he was the driver of the van but he was not! we did not tipped him! waaaaaa such a shame! it was very rude of us. When we got to our "hotel"[bwahahhaha]. just kidding it was not even close to a hotel. on our first 5 days here in Cebu city, we stayed at a rest house. it was a rest house for the National Food Authority employees. so you cant expect that it was a nice place. it was like a hospital ward with many double-decked beds. it was so freaking hard getting our big big big bags to the 3rd floor of the building. and we only used the stairs! imagine! we were like "pier kargadors!" bwahhaa.. good thing getz was there. the Strongest among us and he was such a gentle dog coz he carried most, if not all, the heavy luggages.
Second. back then we are not familiar with the city yet[as for me, i guess until now] so we had to keep on asking people where is where. we asked the guard where the IT park was, and luckily IT park was only at the back of NFA building. So went straight to the recruiting office and we met the very pretty Joana. she's a heaven sent beauty. unlike other recruiting officers, she's really nice.[it's flattering coz until now Joana remembers me. i asked her if she could remember me, she said of course i do!. u were the cute chinito one wearing a checkered polo! waaaa she was right about cute but chinito? nah! im from it] So after we signed all the contracts we had our free time and of course, what do u expect us to do on our free time? laaaaaag! and the first thing that we wanted to do was to eat. and again, since we didn't know where is where, we asked around. we asked the directions to Ayala mall. We asked a stranger then he pointed us to it but he was a bit not so nice when he answered. Then ken told us that if we're gonna asked Cebuanos we should not ask them in tagalog but in bisaya. i dont really know why.
Third, on our first day at work we had to wake up really early. got our clothes directly out of the bags coz the rest house that we stayed in does not have cabinets. Shirts not ironed, pants a bit crumpled. hahaha. and we looked soo stupid and it was a bit embarrassing coz everybody looked cool on dress down and we looked stupid dressed up. it was the first time that we met our baby boy. wahahha nyways, since there's not much fun about the first day at the office. im gonna skip to the things that we did after the training. since our training schedule was from 6am so we get out of the office at 3pm. and it WAS a summer and at 3pm during summer is really hot. and guess what we did? walked around the hot city and we looked for a house/apartment to stay. although it was super tiring. it was fun. coz we really looked stoopid that time coz we walked distances and we had a map of cebu city on our hands. there was even a time the we were on the sidewalk and we had no idea where we were so we stopped and looked at our map. and we stood on the sidewalk and it was traffic so people on the jeepney looked at us coz we like so i dont know, lost?. we really had no idea where it was[but now im pretty familiar where that spot was. it was along F. Cabahug]. we did same activity for 4 days? even if it was late and dark, we still walked around just to look for a nice place to stay in.
Fourth, we found a nice apartment at the back of IT park. the place was called APAS. the place was ok. and we were excited to transfer there the next day but when we celebrated our apartment hunting success at Gonuts-donuts BTC area. We talked about the place. and we were crazy enough that we thought that the place was haunted. coz u see, the apartment was almost burned down. you can see that part of the place caught a fire coz u can see the traces of burnt part of the house. We were soo crazy coz we thought that when it happened somebody died in that place. so that's why the place was cheap. We even thought the person who showed us around was dead and it was ghost. waaaaa and then everybody got scared so we did not push through in renting that place. so the next day, we were back on house/apartment hunting.
Fifth, after 4 or 5 days of apartment hunting. We[lerry, hunny bunny, ghetz, kuja], found a nice and then-expensive place. it was in La guardia, like 5-10mins walk from IT park! waaaaaaa we've been to far places, walked it, sweat it and we just ended up in a place very near the office. i guess we overlooked it. before it was really hard for us to decide if we're gonna take that place coz it was very expensive for us. like we were fresh grads and we dont have lotsa money yet. so 9.5k/month is expensive and the terms were 1 month deposit and 2 months advance. and that's a total of 28.5k. we didn't have that amount of money yet. so what we did, called for support. wahaha it was late when we move out of the NFA and transferred to the apartment. We really didn't wanna stay another night at NFA. it was around 730pm when we started to transfer our stuffs. so we rushed. transferred our humongous luggages from the NFA to the apartment. The apartment was not furnished. so teppy and lerry went to SM bought things that we needed for the night like two double flat beds, and an electric fan. it was really rushed. we joined the two flat beds, placed on the floor. we didn't have arrangement in bed. we just got in and slept. it was really funny. we were soo0oo0 simple. since our training started at 6am. one must wake up very early coz there was only bathroom. so must one go after the other. since i was the sloth-est among us 5. so i was the one who always had to wake up first and snce getz the quickest, he had to be last...
those experiences were actually the most memorable things that we went through here in Cebu. *sigh*.. i missed my hunny bunny... i missed kuja too...
